P0425 indicates that the powertrain control module has detected a fault in the circuit for the upstream catalyst temperature sensor on bank 1. The sensor measures exhaust temperature before the catalytic converter so the PCM can monitor catalyst efficiency. A problem with the sensor, its wiring, connector, or (rarely) the PCM can set this code.
