U0595 is a network communication code indicating that one or more modules on the vehicle's CAN bus are receiving invalid, corrupted, or nonsensical data from the Powertrain Control Monitor Module (the PCM/ECM). How it's diagnosed

  1. Scan for all stored trouble codes to identify which modules are reporting communication issues and note any patterns
  2. Check for TSBs (Technical Service Bulletins) specific to the vehicle make, model, and year for known PCM or software issues
  3. Verify PCM power supply: check battery voltage, ignition feed, and ground connections for proper voltage and continuity
  4. Inspect PCM and CAN bus connectors for corrosion, bent pins, or loose terminals
  5. Use a multimeter or scan tool to check CAN bus resistance and signal integrity - look for abnormal voltage readings or resistance values outside specification
  6. If available, compare live data from the PCM to known-good values from a similar vehicle to determine if the PCM is generating obviously incorrect readings
