Factory specifications, fluid capacities, torque values, EPA fuel economy and the federal safety record for the 1980 Regal.
The 1980 Buick Regal represents a generation of the model that would later accumulate one of the most extensively documented complaint records in automotive history, with data spanning from 1990 to 2020; during that period, the model's complaint trajectory ranged dramatically from a peak of 325 reported issues in 1998 down to a low of just 1 complaint in 2008, suggesting significant variability in component durability across the model's lifecycle and indicating that while certain model years within the Regal's history experienced substantial reliability concerns, later production cycles achieved markedly improved performance.
