Service quick specs OEM factory data

Capacities, torques and tune-up values from the factory service manual.

This engine holds 4.0 qt of 0W-20 API engine oil, DOT 3 brake fluid. Torque the oil drain plug to 25.0 ft-lbs. The firing order is 1-2-3-4-5-6. Note the cylinder-head bolts finish on a torque angle (torque-to-yield) — they stretch permanently and should be replaced, not reused, during any head service.

Factory maintenance schedule OEM · verified

Normal service, condensed from the factory interval matrix.

Under the factory schedule, replace the engine oil and filter every 5,000 mi; spark plugs at 105,000 mi; coolant at 105,000 mi. The big-interval services (at 105,000 mi for coolant, and the transmission fluid) are the ones owners most often skip — on a lower-mileage example, assume the original fluids are still in it and check them first.

Reliability & federal safety record

Owner-reported issues, recalls, investigations and service bulletins on record with NHTSA — an unfiltered look at what owners actually experience.

The 2015 Nissan Quest sits in the latter half of the 20112017 run, logging 12 NHTSA complaints, zero recalls, and zero investigations while continuing the downward trajectory from 2012’s 93 complaints and single recall. It improved on 2014’s 18 complaints and aligned with 2016’s low-volume pattern of 13 complaints, even as technical service bulletins spiked to 146 from 98 the prior year before settling to 129 in 2016. This places the model year squarely in the generation’s most stable arc, characterized by minimal owner filings and no federal safety actions. The 12 complaints were led by two electrical-system filings, with one each in engine and engine cooling, air bags, and power train/unknown or other, alongside zero crash or fire complaints; the data does not specify root causes for any remaining issues outside these top categories. Given its placement in a sustained low-complaint, zero-recall window, the 2015 Quest is one of the more favorable years to buy in this generation on the basis of federal record alone.
